Reports on attacks by luddites, "serious and alarming disturbances, destructive to property, and highly dangerous to privatre safety and public peace" in Lancashire, West Riding of Yorkshire & parts of Cheshire. Reports murder of Marsden mill owner William Horsfall. Parliamentary papers of this period are rare. It was not until 1836 that provision was made for their sale to the public. Very slight foxing.

Enlightened mill-owner Robert Cookson forsees the collapse of the traditional woollen manufacturing industry and proposes a limit to the growth of machine powered woollen mills employing non-apprenticed labour.
