There is some fading to the spine, and some light splash marking to the cloth; very slight splits to the head of the upper joint and the foot of the lower joint. Inked presentation on the front pastedown from the Hon. R. W. Clive, which has offset slightly to the free endpaper. The engraved frontispiece has a large semicircular damp mark on the top margin. There is some scattered light foxing, but otherwise a very good copy of an uncommon book. Vg/N/a.

This is the coloured map titled "Shropshire" and sheet entitled "Shropshire". The map, a hand-coloured (prior to initial binding) steel engraving contains a vignette of St. Lawrence's Church Ludlow. The inner side of the Shropshire county boundary is coloured yellow, inner boundaries of adjacent counties of Staffordshire, Herefordshire Montgomeryshire, Flintshire, Cheshire, Denbighshire, Worcestershire and Radnorshire are coloured pale green, blue or pink. Wooded areas and rough ground are indicated. Country estates are coloured dark green. The map shows cities, market towns, villages and hamlets, the distance between the towns and cities and London is shown, also shown are the numbers of members returned for each borough and polling places. Towns shown include: Bishop's Castle, Bridgnorth, Church Streeton, Cleobury Mortimer, Clun, Drayton, Ellesmere, Hales Owen, Ludlow, Madeley, Newport, Oswestry, Shiffnall, Shrewsbury, Wellington, Wem, Wenlock and Whitchurch, distances between these towns are given in a table on the accompanying sheet.
