Long List of Causes pending on the Court of Exchequer instituted by the Clergy as well as Lay Impropriators, Tithe Owners, distinguishing by whom and when commenced. Eg. Hilalry Term 1809 Thomas Jee, clerk, plaintiff, v. William Hockley, Samuel Hill, John Barnard, Thomas Pratt, Ann Buttle, Samuel Willis, Jane Salmon and John Buttle, defendants; for all Small Tithes, except milk, calves and hay, within the parish of THAXTED, in the County of ESSEX." Cases dating back seven years i.e. 1810 to 1817. Often up to a dozen defendants named from parishes defaulting on tithes. p.7 twelve individuals from the parish of Irnham, Lincoln dated April, 1812. A very clean copy. Parliamentary papers of this period are rare. Provision of their sale to the public was not made until 1836.
