Very minor rubbing to endcaps, free endpapers a little toned at edges. A very good, handsomely bound copy. Very large armorial bookplate of Fairfax of Cameron to front paste-down (descendants of parliamentarian army officer Thomas, third Lord Fairfax of Cameron (1612–1671)). Tiny stamp to ffep verso, 'Bound by Mudie'. Pamphlet concerning the London militia and the garrisoning of the Tower. Tollesbury Coronation Celebrations - Souvenir Programme, Tuesday June 2nd 1953
Tollesbury Parish Council, 1953, 1st edition. Folded card with 4pp stapled insert, VG. mounted photograph of the Queen to the upper panel, the 4pp insert carries the programme of events for the Coronation celebrations. edges a little rubbed, ink numerals to the bottom R corner. Laid in is a typed Order of Service & a clipping from the Essex Courier dated June 5th reporting on the celebrations & giving details of winners etc. Paperback , no dustjacket.
¶ A little piece of ephemera giving details of the events held to celebrate the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. Thse began with an open air service at 09:30am & concluded with a bonfire at 10:30pm. The centre two pages give details of the childrens sports events & the final page details of the Carnival classes.
