ALLOM, T. & ROSE, T.
Westmorland, Cumberland, Durham & Northumberland Illustrated from Orig. Drwgs by Thomas Allom.
Fisher. 1st Edn. 1832. 4to. Engr. vignette title page, 220pp. text. 216 steel engr. views, (215 listed), mainly 2 per page (6 full page), all with tissue guards. Half red morocco, on marbled boards, with ornate gilt decorated compartments to spine. Edges rubbed, short splits at top of spine. The marbled paper is peeling off the rear board, (some lost), and less so off the front, but the boards are sound. Can be tidied up quite easily. Marbled end papers. All edges gilt. Occasional quite light spots, but overall a nice clean copy. - .##. - It appears that there is an extra view here, but the index is one plate short. There are six larger plates, (full page), as called for in the 215 listed. 105 pages at 2 per page gives 210 as doubles. The index is a plate short. We have not identified the extra one due to time constraints. - .##. -
