ANDREW BOYLE
No Passing Glory. The Full and Authentic Biography of Groug Captain Cheshire .
Collins & Son Co Ltd, UK, 1957. First Edition, Hardcover. Very Good Condition/Very Good. 384 Pages. Foredges of the page are slightly marked. Andrew Boyle tells the Cheshire story from the time of his Wartime bombing sorties to the time of the homes of refuge for the incurably ill with which Cheshire has come to be associated in the public mind. There are stories of Cheshire's undergraduate days, when he behaved much as other undergraduates behave. Then there is his entry into the Royal Air Force and the unpleasant episode of the security officers. Quantity Available: 1. Category: Miscellaneous; Inventory No: V295-1250.

ABERCROMBIE PATRICK AND KELLY SYDNEY A
Report to the Earl of Stamford on the Development Plan for his Cheshire Estate Dunham Massey
Liverpool 1932 10pp, folded map 32x25, sewn card wraps, map 120x144 unfolded. Spine slightly split and worn at top and bottom, some browning to edges of pages, light foxing on a couple of pages, very good thus. Exceptionally rare item, not listed in the Manno bibliography of Abercrombie's plans, nor on WorldCat. The plan was a private commission by Abercrombie and Kelly for Roger Grey, the 10th Earl of Stamford, and stemmed in part from the work that Abercrombie had been doing on the North Cheshire Joint Town Planning Scheme. This Scheme had been contentious, with much debate over the routes of by-passes and road schemes near the Earl's estate, and Abercrombie and Kelly were brought in after the death of Reginald Bruce to complete the Joint Scheme. The work that they presented to the Earl was for a carefully designed residential scheme around Dunham Town of around 180 houses, with a great deal of emphasis on green space and parks. A local historian suggests that the Earl considered reviving the plan in the aftermath of the WWII, but austerity and shortages of building materials meant that the idea was dropped.

ABERCROMBIE PATRICK AND KELLY SYDNEY A
Report to the Earl of Stamford on the Development Plan for his Cheshire Estate Dunham Massey
Liverpool 1932 10pp (map missing). 32x25, sewn card wraps. Spine split and worn at top and bottom and somewhat discoloured, some browning to edges of pages, generally good for fragile item. The large folded map is missing, although a carefully copied transparency of the Earl's coat of arms has been loosely inserted, and this may be part of the original artwork from which the map was printed; the coat of arms features prominently.
