BEDFORD LEVEL CORPORATION.
A State of the Revenues and Debt of the Corporation of Bedford-Levels, as the same stood at Lady-day 1752, with the Advantages which will accrue to the Creditors of the Corporation, and the Proprietors of the South and Middle Levels, by permitting the Proprietors of the North Level to be discharged of the Debt. in order to their making a Security for a sufficient Sum of Money to be raised for their better Draining, on the Terms which have lately been proposed ..... For if that Debt has, by its specific Lien, a Right to Satisfaction, in the First place, out of the Revenues of the North Level, nothing will be taken from other Creditors, as there is no Prospect of any Surplus. But if that Security should be set aside, or the Duke of Bedford and Lord Lincoln should, by reason of the Insufficiency of the Revenues of the North Level be intitled to a Satisfaction over on the Revenues of the other Levels; in such Case the Creditors will, by this proposal, have near One-half of the Debt discharged, for a Release of One-eighth of their Security; which will greatly better their Security, and put them into a much better State and Condition than they now are.
[London?], [1752]. Folio, drop-head and docket titles, 4 pp., as folded, a nice copy. The ESTC locates 2 copies only, Bedfordshire Record Office and Cambridge University.

O'DELL, DAMIEN
Ghostly Bedfordshire Reinvestigated: A Haunted History
Egon Publishers Ltd. Royston, Hertfordshire, 2004. First Edition, Softcover. As New/No Dust Jacket. 9780954669843 Signed by Author. Damien O'Dell's first book about the paranormal brings together his various interests - his Bedfordshire roots, his fascination with the paranormal and his love of history. He travelled many hundreds of miles, from Odell to Arlesey, from Barton-le-Clay to Bolnhurst, and interviewed scores of witnesses in his search for the truth. His book is filled with a rich panoply of characters, both famous and infamous, from Sir Fulke de Breaute to Lord Thomson of Cardington. Well over a hundred people feature in ‘Ghostly Bedfordshire’ ... reinvestigated, but the most interesting stories come from 'ordinary' people, from a variety of backgrounds. Their sincerity, often corroborated, where possible by other witnesses, convinced the author that what we refer to as 'ghosts' are very real experiences. This was reinforced in the village of Wilden, when he came into spine-tingling, personal contact with poltergeists. What follows has been written with professional thoroughness, it may seem incredible, even unbelievable ... but it is absolutely true ... welcome to Ghostly Bedfordshire ... reinvestigated - a haunted history. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 200 pages. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. White titles spine. Includes bibliography. Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: Under 500 grams. Category: Magic, Paranormal & Occult; Ghosts; Bedfordshire; Hauntings; England; Genealogy & Local History. Signed by Author. ISBN: 0954669843. ISBN/EAN: 9780954669843.
